Mamta Mohandas bags Prithviraj’s 'Detroit Crossing'

Written by : TNM

Director Nirmal Sahadev has confirmed that Mamta Mohandas has been signed up to play the female lead in Detroit Crossing, an English – Malayalam crossover film. Speaking about her inclusion to the star cast, the director said that it is a very meaty role and on par with hero Prithviraj's.

Set in Detroit, Michigan, the film’s shooting will commence in May, confirmed Mamta. And before going for the shoots, director Nirmal has plans to conduct a workshop in April, she added.

Elaborating about the film, the director said that it is a neo-noir, with the hero playing a member of a Tamil street gang. While Detroit Crossing will be the title for the English version, the Malayalam version will have a different title, the director is reported to have said. Plans are afoot to release the English version in the US where a major portion of the film is expected to be shot.

Nirmal also said that music will play an important role in the film and that Jakes Bejoy is the composer. Mamta and Prithviraj had previously paired up for Anwar way back in 2010 and will be seen sharing the screen space after seven long years.
