Mammootty - Sathyan Anthikad film to start rolling in April

Malayalam megastar Mammootty and ace director Sathyan Anthikad have worked together in several films in the past and now they are all set to team up again for a new project. It will start rolling from April 2020. It is after a gap of 22 years that the actor and the director are coming together.

Iqbal Kuttipuram, who has written films like Diamond Necklace and Jomonte Suvisheshangal, will be penning the Mammootty – Sathyan Anthikad film. Revealing that the scripting is being done, the director disclosed that the other details regarding the project will be out in February next year.

On working with the megastar after a gap of over two decades, Sathyan has said in an interview to the Times of India, “I am happy to be working with Mammootty after over two decades. The last film we did together was Oral Mathram in 1997. We have made many films together such as Kalikkalam, Artham, Golanthara Varthakal, No.1 Snehatheeram Banglore North, Sreedharante Onnam Thirumurivu and Kanal Kattu.”

Mammootty’s upcoming film Mamangam is releasing this month. Mamangam, made on a budget of Rs 50 crore, is directed by M Padmakumar. The film is a historical based on a medieval fair for the warriors. With Ganesh Rajavelu aka Jim Ganesh wielding the camera, M Jayachandran scoring the music, Sreekar Prasad in charge of the editing, and Kaecha Khamphakdee choreographing the stunts, the film has a strong technical team. It is bankrolled by Venu Kunnampilly under the banner Kavya Films.

There were reports recently that Mammootty will be working with the debut director Jofin T Chacko in a film that has not been titled yet. Sources in the know say that it is a thriller that has impressed the star so much that he allotted dates for it pushing back other projects in the pipeline. The shooting is scheduled to begin next month. Anto Joseph will be bankrolling the film under his banner.
