Mammootty’s 'Uncle' film details out

Fans have been waiting eagerly for the details of Malayalam superstar Mammootty’s next, titled Uncle. The film, to be directed by Gireesh Damodar, will have the script written by Joy Mathews. The director, during an interview to a leading daily, revealed that Uncle will be on the lines of Shutter, which was directed by Joy Mathews.

The story is about a 17-year-old and her dad’s friend, the director disclosed.

Mammootty’s last release was Thoppil Joppan and his next outing at the theatres will be The Great Father, which is expected to release on March 30. 

Directed by Haneef Adeni, The Great Father stars Arya in an important role and Sneha plays the female lead. Others in the star cast include Shaam, Anikha, Malavika Mohanan, and Miya George. The film is produced jointly by Prithviraj Sukumaran, Santosh Sivan, Arya and Shaji Nadesan.

Yet another Mammootty film, Puthan Panam, is also gearing up for release and will mostly be out for Vishu. The film is jointly produced by Ranjith, Abraham Mathew and Arun Narayanan under the banner Three Colour Cinema.
