Mammootty and Mohanlal to attend Jayaram’s 'Grand Father' muhurat

The shooting of the Jayaram starrer Grandfather is all set to commence this month and the muhurat is scheduled to happen this Sunday, December 3rd. In a Facebook post, the film’s lead star revealed that Mammootty and Mohanlal will be the chief guests at this event and will kick start the proceedings.

He wrote: “മമ്മൂട്ടിയും മോഹൻലാലും ചേർന്ന് ദീപം തെളിയിച്ച് എന്റെ പുതിയ സിനിമക്ക് തുടക്കം കുറിക്കുന്നു. ഇതിൽകൂടുതൽ എന്ത് വേണം. #GrandFather#PoojaInvitation | Mohanlal | Mammootty | Aneesh Anwar”

The shooting of Grand Father, which will be directed by Aneesh Anwar, will start on December 12th with its release planned for Vishu in April next year. Sharing screen space with Jayaram in the movie would be Divya Pillai and Surabhi Santosh. Reports are that actor Anusree will also be seen playing a vital role in the film but she is not the female lead as anticipated.

The rest of the actors in this entertainer comprise Senthil Krishna, Soubin Shahir, Baburaj, Baiju Santhosh, Vijayaraghavan, Sharafuddin, Dharmajan Bolgatty, Dileesh Pothen, Sajan Palluruthy, Sunil Suhara, Asha Aravind, Johny Antony, Hareesh Kanaran, Jaffer Idukki and Mallika Sukumaran. The film is scripted by Shani Kader. The technicians roped in for the project include Sameer Haq for cinematography, Vishnu Mohan Sithara for music composition and Sahas Bala for art direction. The film is bankrolled by Haseeb Haneef, Manju Badsha and Aji Medayil under the banner Achicha Cinema. Reports are that Grand Father is touted to be a comic caper.

Jayaram has had three of his films - Daivame Kaithozham K.Kumar, Akanam and Panchavarnathatha - release this year.

There are also reports that he will be seen with Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi in a Malayalam film to be directed by cinematographer Sajan Kalathil. The project is reported to be in the initial stages and an official word about it will be out soon, we hear from sources.
