Nandamuri Kalyanram is desperately in need of a big hit. While he hasn’t had success at the box office off late, the star is gearing up for the release of 118. The first look poster and teaser of this thriller are already out with a positive buzz. The film’s producers had reportedly told in an interview to the Deccan Chronicle, “118 is a gripping and edge-of-the-seat thriller. The response to the film’s posters and teaser has been very promising. Director Kuhan has shot the film so stylishly that the visuals will perfectly complement the narrative. We are very confident that the film will strike a chord with the audience.”

Sharing the screen space with Kalyanram in this flick as his heroines are Nivetha Thomas and Shalini Pandey.

118 is bankrolled by PRO Mahesh Koneru under his banner East Coast Productions and directed by KV Guhan. The shooting of this film is on and is scheduled for release soon. It may be noted here that KV Guhan is a popular cinematographer having cranked the camera for a number of films in his long career including Kushi, New, Athadu, Mozhi, Muni and Jalsa. He had directed the film Inidhu Inidhu in 2010. Shekar Chandra has been roped in to compose music for this venture. Kalyanram plays an investigative journalist in the film and he has done some daredevilry stunts in it, report sources. Also, he will be sporting a new look for the role.

118 was launched by Kalyanram’s brother and popular star Jr NTR a few months ago. The film launch was a grand affair with several celebrities attending it. When the first look poster was out on N Kalyan Ram’s birthday, wishes poured in for the star from all quarters.

Kalyan Ram’s last release Naa Nuvve, a rom com, written and directed by Jayendra Panchapakesan, had hit the marquee in June this year. Incidentally, the film was produced by the same production house that is bankrolling 118.
