Mahesh Babu’s 'Spyder' and Allu Arjun’s 'Duvvada Jagannadham' to release on the same day

Come June 23, 2017, and Tollywood is set to witness the big box office clash of this year!

Mahesh Babu’s Spyder and Allu Arjun’s Duvvada Jagannadham will hit the marquee on the same day, to cash in on the Ramzan weekened.

With both the big films slotted to hit the silver screens on June 23, movie buffs are waiting eagerly to know which one of the films would turn out to be successful.

Mahesh Babu’s Spyder, a spy thriller loaded with action, has been directed by AR Murugadoss. The first look of the film along with the title was released on April 12 and it went viral, raking up the expectation levels for the film.

Starring Rakul Preet Singh as the female lead, Spyder also has Bharath and SJ Suryah in the star cast.

The film has a strong technical crew with Harris Jayaraj composing the tunes, Sreekar Prasad editing and Santosh Sivan cranking the camera.

The film is a bilingual, made simultaneously in Tamil as well as Telugu and will mark the hero’s debut in Kollywood.

Duvvada Jagannadham, starring Allu Arjun in the titular role, has Pooja Hegde playing his lead pair.

Directed by Harish Shankar, the film has been produced by Dil Raju under his banner Venkateswara Creations. Devi Sri Prasad has composed music for this flick with Ayananka Bose cranking the camera.

There were reports earlier that the film was touted to be a summer release but the producers have now made it clear that it is headed for the Eid weekend.

It may be mentioned here that Bollywood star Salman Khan’s Tubelight is also scheduled to release on the same date.
