Bigg Boss Tamil contestant Mahat Raghavendra got engaged to his long-time girlfriend Prachi Mishra on Wednesday. Mahat shared the news along with a photograph on his social media handle.

Wishes poured in from the film industry following the news.

Mahat was on Season 2 of Tamil Bigg Boss which was hosted by Kamal Haasan. On the show, he'd expressed his love for Yashika, another contestant.

Mahat has acted in Tamil and Telugu films in supporting roles, but it was after his stint at the Bigg Boss house that he became well-known. He first appeared on screen in Silambarasan's Vallavan in an uncredited role. He starred as a speech impaired character in Chennai 600028 II and a rowdy in Anbanavan Asaradhavan Adangadhavan. Mahat is Silambarasan's childhood friend. He has acted in films like Mankatha and Jilla and is also part of the yet to be released Nerkonda Paarvai, which is the Tamil remake of the Bollywood film Pink.

Prachi, a model and Femina Miss India Earth 2012, met Mahat in Dubai in 2016 and the duo had been dating ever since. There were rumours of the couple getting married after the completion of Bigg Boss 2.

Mahat was one of the most controversial contestants of Bigg Boss 2. After he openly confessed his love for his fellow contestant Yashika on the show, Prachi had publicly put an end to her relationship with Mahat.

“I sent someone whom I love and we planned our life around the big boss timing etc. I am making my personal life public so that ppl who are bombarding my social media with msgs of sympathy or filthy things…I AM NOT WITH MAHAT SO PLS LEAVE MY SOCIAL MEDIA FOR MY WORK Thank you,” Prachi had then written on her Instagram handle. However, Prachi deleted the post after a few days and the couple had sorted out their differences after Mahat was evicted from the show.
