Madonna Sebastian is all set to make her acting debut in Sandalwood with Kottigobba 3. The actor-singer who debuted in her home turf of Malayalam with Premam will also be seen playing the female lead in the Malayalam film Iblis, opposite Asif Ali.

On her role in the film, she told in an interview to the Deccan Chronicle, “I play the role of Fida in the movie. The movie has a fantasy side, but is treated in a humorous way. It will really be a novel experience for the audience.”

An adventure comedy, Iblis is directed by Rohith VS of Adventures of Omanakuttan fame and produced by Sreelekshmi R under the banner Ichais Productions. Those playing supporting roles in the film include Lal, Master Adish, Konapri, Siddique, Sreenath Bhasi, Saiju Kurup and Aju Varghese.

Madonna’s last film release in Mollywood was King Liar and on staging a comeback after two years, she had this to say: “Even though I work in different languages, working in Malayalam is easier and special as it’s our own turf. There is always scope for improvising when acting in Malayalam. I was waiting for a versatile role in Malayalam. I had seen Adventures of Omanakuttan and then came the call for playing Fida. It was the sort of role I was waiting for. The wait was worth it as I got a chance to do a different type of role. It was brilliant working with the team. The shoot and the production process went really smooth. It was a gratifying experience."

Madonna made her debut in the Tamil film industry with the Vijay Sethupathi starrer Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum and in Telugu with the Premam remake.

She is also known for her singing, associating with other artists for music projects like for the band Everafter where she works with musician Roby Abraham.
