The shooting of Lucifer has been progressing steadily with its makers eyeing its release in April next year. Reports are that it is in the final stages and will be wrapped up soon. The team is currently stationed at St Petersburg in Russia where some important portions are being canned. While most of the cast and crew are in Russia, the film’s main lead Mohanlal is not a part of this schedule. It may be noted here that he is away in the UAE for an AMMA special event.

So far, Lucifer has been shot in various places in Kerala including Ernakulam, Idukki and Thiruvananthapuram and in Mumbai. With the schedule in Russia, a major portion of the film would be complete. The film requires a lot of special effects to be included due to which its release has been planned in April next year.

In Lucifer, Mohanlal plays a politician and his character is named Stephen Nedumballi. Besides Mohanlal, the cast also includes Manju Warrier, Indrajith Sukumaran, Vivek Oberoi, and Tovino in pivotal roles. Those in the supporting roles include Kalabhavan Shajon, Sai Kumar, director Fazil, Sunil Sughatha, Thara Kalyan, Praveena Thomas and Mala Parvathy.

The technical crew of the film includes Sujith Vaassudev for cinematography and Samjith for editing while Stephen Devassy will be in charge of the music composition. Veteran writer and actor Murali Gopy has penned the script for Lucifer which is touted to be a political thriller.

Lucifer marks the directorial debut of actor Prithviraj. The film is bankrolled by Anthony Perumbavoor under his banner Aashirvad Films.
