Raju, the Indian elephant that was kept in captivity for long 50 years has finally been freed. The helpless animal reportedly cried when it was liberated from its chains. The story has touched many around the world, and now love, hope and sympathies are pouring in for the rescued animal on social media platforms.The official page of Wildlife S.O.S, an NGO based out of United Kingdom that rescued Raju has been flooded with comments conveying love, and people’s readiness for investing in the well-being of the animal.Some commented that they could not stop crying after hearing his story. After Wildlife S.O.S posted a picture of Raju being tenderly taken care of by one of its workers, a woman even wrote “I would marry that man!! The only one but look how caring he is”.Another user wrote “This makes me cry. Resting from 50 epic years of suffering. I hope in his dreams his mama comes back to him and whispers in his ear, "Everything will be okay now. . .".Raju was badly bruised and hurt because of the harsh treatment he received at his former “home” in Uttar Pradesh. Reports say that his previous owners Raju would not be given food for days, which eventually forced him to eat plastic and similar litter that was lying around. But now, a team of ten veterinary doctors have joined the Wildlife SOS team back in India, to tend to Raju.The folks at Wildlife SOS are all out, trying to give their best for Raju.
