Lawrence bags sequel to Rajinikanth's blockbuster Chandramukhi

Written by : TNM

Remember superstar Rajinikanth and Jyotika starrer Chandramukhi, which opened the floodgates for horror films in Tamil cinema? A decade later since its release, the film will finally have a sequel sans the lead cast. Veteran filmmaker P. Vasu, who directed Chandramukhi, is all set to helm its sequel too, which will be a remake of his own recent Kannada horror hit, Shivalinga.

The film will star choreographer-turned-actor Lawrence who, following the phenomenal success of films such as Muni, Kanchana and Kanchana 2, is the go-to actor for horror flicks. In Chandramukhi 2, which is slated to go on the floors later this year, Vadivelu will be seen as his sidekick.

Although Lawrence can only commence the project after he wraps up his two current films including Motta Siva Ketta Siva, the makers have already paid him advance and have officially brought him on board.

Released earlier this year, Shivalinga, starring Kannada superstar Shivrajkumar and Vedhika Kumar struck gold at the box-office. The film emerged as one of the biggest Kannada hits this year.
