Vijay fans in Kerala have erected a 175-ft cut-out of the actor, making it the tallest ever in the country for any star. The Kollam Nanbans Fan Club came up with the cut-out that was unveiled by Malayalam actor Sunny Wayne.

It is interesting to note that the tallest cut-out, standing precariously, came from Vijay’s fans in Kerala. Not stopping with the cut-out, the fans club has allotted Rs 1 lakh for social service activities.

Tamil star Vijay has a huge fan following in the neighbouring state and all his recently released films have managed to get a good response.

Sarkar, starring Vijay in the lead role, is scheduled for release this Diwali and his fans are gearing up for massive celebrations worldwide.

The film is directed by AR Murugadoss and bankrolled by Kalanithi Maran under his banner Sun Pictures. Oscar-winning music composer AR Rahman is scoring music for this magnum opus with lyricist Vivek penning the lyrics, Girish Gangadharan wielding the camera and A Sreekar Prasad editing it. AR Murugadoss and Vijay are teaming up for the third time after the success of Thuppaki and Kaththi and fans are hopeful that the duo would score a hat-trick at the box office with Sarkar.

The movie has two heroines – Keerthy Suresh and Varalaxmi Sarath Kumar. Those in the supporting roles include Arjun Sarja, Prem Kumar, Yogi Babu, Radha Ravi, and Pala Karuppiah. On the storyline, sources in the know say that Vijay, a US-returned IT professional, is interested in social welfare activities. However, after certain incidents unfold, he realises that for helping people he needs to have power and decides to take a political plunge which eventually leads him to the chief minister’s chair. If this report turns out to be true, it will be Vijay’s first time playing the CM in a movie.
