The Kannada movie I Love You, starring Upendra, hit the marquee recently and has been doing well at the Sandalwood box office. The Telugu version of this bilingual was released in the Telugu-speaking states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to positive reviews.

Following its success, the makers of I Love You are planning to remake the film in Tamil. Reports say that a top production house will be bankrolling the venture with R Chandru, who had directed the original, roped in to wield the megaphone again. It appears that Karthi will be reprising the role done by Upendra.

I Love You, starring Upendra and Rachita Ram in the lead, is directed and produced by Chandru. Sonu Gowda plays a pivotal role in this flick besides a host of actors in supporting roles. The technical crew of I Love You includes music by Kiran Thotambyle and cinematography by Naveen Kumar.

Meanwhile, Karthi is expecting the release of Kaithi. The shooting of this film has been completed and it is currently in the post-production mode. Kaithi is an action thriller film written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film also stars Narain and George Maryan. It is produced jointly by SR Prakashbabu and SR Prabhu under the Dream Warrior Pictures banner and is co-produced by Tiruppur Vivek under the Vivekananda Pictures banner. The film’s soundtrack is composed by Sam CS, with Philomin Raj handled the editing and Sathyan Sooryan cranking the camera. Kaithi’s release date is expected to be out soon.

Karthi is also busy with an untitled film which is being directed by Jeethu Joseph, in which he will be sharing screen space with his sister-in-law Jyothika. Well-known veteran actor Sowcar Janaki, who was last seen on screen in the Telugu film Babu Bangaram, has also been roped in for a key role in the film.
