Actor Karthi, who is currently shooting for Tamil film Dev, is most likely to team up with Malayalam director Jeethu Joseph next. If the industry grapevine is anything to go by, the Drishyam director and Karthi are expected to join hands for a Tamil and Malayalam bilingual film. While there’s no official confirmation yet regarding this project, close sources to Karthi have confirmed that the actor has given a go ahead to Jeethu’s story idea.

Meanwhile, Karthi recently shot for a song from Dev in Pune. In September, the film’s crew got stranded in Manali, courtesy landslides and flash floods. About the incident, Karthi had said in a statement: “We actually had to shoot particular scenes in the ambience of rainfalls or snowfalls. Apparently, things were perfect with gentle rains and even the weather forecast didn’t have an alarming situation, which was until yesterday. But situation got worse with unceasing landslides and floods, where huge rocks started rolling down the hills, hampering the vehicular traffic and movement. I was stranded inside the car for nearly four to five hours and was later insisted to stay in a nearby village for safety purpose. What’s more deplorable is that 140 members were stranded without any communication on the mountain top.” Apparently, this situation had resulted in a loss of nearly Rs. 1.5 crore.

Dev is being bankrolled by Prince Pictures and Reliance Entertainment and directed by debutant Rajath Ravishankar. Rakul Preet Singh, who was also part of Theeran, has reunited with Karthi for this project. Actors such as Ramya Krishnan, Prakash Raj, Amrutha and R.J. Vignesh are playing pivotal roles. Veteran actor Karthik will be seen playing a cameo. Harris Jayaraj has been roped in to compose music. The film is believed to be made on a budget of Rs. 55 crore.
