Written by : TNM

Actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan loves to reinvent with every project. In recent years, one of his most loved characters was Balram Naidu, a RAW operative from his Tamil blockbuster Dasavatharam. The character was extremely well received by critics and audiences alike and going by some inside reports from Haasan’s camp, the National award-winning actor is all set revive the character in his upcoming trilingual project.

Haasan will return as Balram Naidu, and the film’s story will revolve around his family. While Ramya Krishnan will be seen as his wife, Shruti Haasan will play his reel daughter for the first time. It’s tipped to be an out-and-out comedy flick with short bursts of action. Popular Telugu comedian Brahmanandam will play Kamal’s sidekick, Appa Rao, a character originally played by late dance master Raghuram. The cast also includes Saurabh Shukla among others.

On Friday, the film will be officially launched. The project will be simultaneously made in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. Maestro Ilaiyaraja has been roped in to compose the music.

The film was originally titled Redo Naidu; however, upon Ilaiyaraja’s suggestion it has been changed.  The official title along with the first motion poster will be revealed on Friday during the film’s launch in Chennai.
