Written by : TNM

After being in cold storage for many months, actor Kamal Haasan's fans finally have reasons to cheer. The second part of Vishwaroopam franchise, long due for release, has been revived and work has recommenced on the project which is expected to hit the screens later this year, according to trusted sources.

Nearly two weeks of shooting and major post-production work is pending on the project but director Rajesh M Selva, who assisted Kamal Hassan on the project, confirmed on Thursday that the project will be completed very soon.

Although shot as a single film, due to its length, Vishwaroopam was planned to be released in two parts. It follows the story of an Indian spy, played by Haasan himself, who befriends a notorious terrorist, played by Rahul Bose, and tries to bring down his empire. The first part was lauded for its high-octane action and taut screenplay. One of the highlights of the film was the scene where Haasan is seen transforming into a mean killing machine from an effervescent Kathak dancer.

Also starring Andrea Jeremiah, Pooja Kumar and Shekhar Kapoor, the film has music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. On Thursday, Rajesh Selva in a tweet confirmed that the project has been revived and all the pending work will be wrapped in two weeks.
