Written by : TNM

The first look of the Kalyan Ram starrer MLA (Manchu Lakshanalunna Abbayi) was launched recently and it looks promising.

The actor, who is looking for a big hit after his most recent flicks Sher and Ism turned out to be box office duds, is hopeful that MLA would give him the break needed.

Ever since the Pataas release a couple of years ago, the actor – producer have been looking for a big hit, but it has been elusive.

Directed by Upendra Madhav, MLA has Kalyan Ram playing the lead role with Kajal Agarwal as the female lead. Veteran actor Brahmanandam will be seen in a very important role in this flick.

Upendra Madhav is making his directorial debut with this flick after working as associate director and writer in films such as Bruce Lee, Aagadu, Baadshah, Shadow (2013 film), Dookudu, Pandavulu Pandavulu Thummeda, Manodu and Toss.

MLA, despite its politically oriented title, will be a family entertainer that is produced jointly by C Bharat Chowdhury and MV Kiran Reddy.

The first look poster was released on the eve of Kalyan Ram’s birthday and has been well received among film buffs.

On the film’s progress, we hear from sources in the industry, that the first schedule has been wrapped up and the second schedule is all set to commence this month in Hyderabad.

Though Kalyan Ram is busy with his acting assignment in MLA, he is also closely monitoring the development of his brother Jr NTR starrer Jai Lava Kusa, which he is producing under his banner NTR Arts.

Jai Lava Kusa is progressing at a rapid pace with the team eyeing a Dusshera release.

The film has Jr NTR in triple roles, and is being directed by KS Ravindra.
