Kalyan Ram inks a deal with KV Guhan

KV Guhan, a well-known cinematographer with several films to his credit such as Kushi (Hindi), New, Naani, Athadu, Mozhi, Muni, Jalsa etc., made his debut as director with the 2010 release Inidhu Inidhu.

He is now all set to direct a Telugu film which will mark his directorial debut in the Telugu film industry. The cinematographer – turned – director has roped in Kalyan Ram to play the lead role in his first directorial that will be bankrolled by SM Koneru under the banner East Coast Productions. The film was launched officially with a pooja in Hyderabad recently and the event was attended by several celebs including Kalyan Ram’s brother and actor Jr NTR and father N Hari Krishna.

KV Guhan has roped in two heroines – Nivetha Thomas and Shalini Pandey – to play the women leads in this flick. Kalyan Ram made his debut as a child artiste with the 1989 film Bala Gopaludu and has acted in several films till date. His last film release was MLA aka Manchi Lakshanulla Abbayi, which hit the silver screens last month.

Written and directed by Upendra Madhav, he was paired up with Kajal Aggarwal in this flick. The star is currently busy with the romcom Naa Nuvve, which is being directed by Jayendra Panchapakesan. The film is currently in the final stages of production with its release date being set for May 25. Tammannah also stars in this flick and Vennela Kishore will be seen in a pivotal role. The film is bankrolled by Kiran Muppavarpu and Vijaykumar Vattikuti under the banner Cool Breeze Cinemas. Veteran cinematographer PC Sreeram is handing the camera for this venture. The actorm who is also a successful producer, said in a recent media interaction, that he would continue producing films. “I’m a happy producer. Never have I felt I produced a film which audiences really hated.”

He also added that he’ll soon be seen in a multi-starrer, which is now in vogue in Tollywood.
