Kabali director Ranjith has a script ready for Suriya

Written by : TNM

Director Pa. Ranjith, who rose to fame after working with superstar Rajinikanth in Kabali, is all set to reunite with the Sivaji star. As preparations are underway for the project, which will be bankrolled by Dhanush and is slated to go on the floors from May, we have learnt that the director might team up with Suriya next as he has a script ready. Apparently, Ranjith had approached Suriya with two scripts before he was roped in to work with Rajinikanth.

“Ranjith had approached Suriya with two scripts and was even ready to work together. It was around the same time that he got an opportunity to work with the superstar and he didn’t want to miss out on the opportunity. As he gears up for his next project with Rajinikanth, he has revisited the idea to team up with Suriya and had even recently met him casually for a discussion. While nothing has been finalised yet, it can however be expected that the duo might join hands in the future,” a source said.

Not long ago, rumours surfaced online that superstar Rajinikanth will play gangster Haji Mastan in his next film with Kabali director Ranjith. When we did some digging, we learnt that the reports are baseless and that the project, though it will be made against the backdrop of Mumbai, won’t be based on the life of Haji Mastan. In fact, it won’t even be a gangster-based film and will address a very important issue that’s plaguing the country.
