July 22 has been marked in calendars across the country. With less than ten days to go for the release of “Kabali”, the most awaited Tamil film of the year, die-hard fans of superstar Rajinikanth are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that they catch the film – first day, first show.
Pre-booking for “Kabali” has not begun at theatres across Tamil Nadu, but that hasn’t stopped Thalaivar fans from sending in leave requests at their place of work or study.
“I have already applied for leave. I applied for leave with my manager two months ago for ‘Kabali’. Now that the date has been fixed forJuly 22, I am sure I will get my leave approved. There’s no chance I will miss watching the movie on the first day,” declares Sampath, a consultant at an IT firm in Chennai.
Prabha has been preparing for the civil services exam for the last few months. And although her preliminary exam is on August 7, come what may, she plans to put her studying on hold for “Kabali”. Prabha excitedly says, “I have already arranged for the first day, first show tickets from the Rajinikanth fan club. This is a much-awaited film.”
