'Jai Ho Mission Kakatiya': Telangana releases video on water tank restoration drive

The News Minute | March 28, 2015 | 9:55 am ISTThe Telangana government seems to be taking its Mission Kakatiya project forward at a rapid pace as it released a new song to create awareness about the project.Mission Kakatiya with the tagline 'mana ooru mana cheruvu' is one of the flagship programmes of the government aimed at restoration of irrigation tanks across the state.The video which also features Irrigation minister Harish Rao and TRS MLA Rasamayi Balakishan, was released and reportedly passed on to all the media channels in Telangana. The Telangana government is aiming to complete the restoration of all the tanks in next five years. The government plans to restore 46,000 tanks over the next four years at an estimated cost of Rs 25,000 crore.The mission has been named Kakatiya as a tribute to the Kakatiya dynasty rulers, who had built a large number of irrigation tanks in Telangana.The official website for the project can be found here. The song has been written by Tirupathi Matla and sung by Vandemataram Srinivas with Yuvan Suresh providing the music for it.TweetFollow @thenewsminute
