Mahesh Babu’s fans are waiting eagerly for the release of Maharshi next month. And reports about his upcoming film are even more exciting. The star has been roped in to play the lead role in the revenge drama that will be directed by Anil Ravipudi.

While the news is already out that Rashmika Mandanna will be playing the female lead in this untitled film and veteran actor Vijayashanthi is in talks for a pivotal role, we hear that Jagapathi Babu, the most wanted villain in the south Indian film circuit right now, will be playing the antagonist. The film is supposed to be launched next month and the shooting will begin in June, say sources. Plans are on to release the film for Sankaranthi next year.

Meanwhile, Mahesh Babu’s fans are waiting eagerly for Maharshi. Directed by Vamsi Paidapally, it is a high budget project with a major portion of it being shot in the United States.

The film is being produced jointly by Dil Raju, C. Ashwini Dutt and Prasad V. Potluri under the banners Sri Venkateswara Creations, Vyjayanthi Movies and PVP Cinema. The technical crew of this film includes Devi Sri Prasad as its music composer, K. U. Mohanan as the cinematographer and Praveen KL as the editor. Two songs from the album have been released already and have gone viral among the fans. This has increased the anticipation levels for the rest of the songs.

It may be noted here that Maharshi was initially planned as a Sankaranthi release but it was postponed as the filmmakers had to deal with some legal issues. It was then announced that the film will be released on April 5 due to some delays and then postponed to April 25. Eventually, the filmmakers decided on releasing the film on May 9.
