Actor Jagapathi Babu is one of the busiest villains not just in Tollywood but in the other film industries such as Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada too. He has now bagged an interesting role in the upcoming Darshan starrer Robert. Sources in the know say that Jagapathi Babu will be seen playing the main antagonist in the film.

Jagapathi Babu was last seen in the Telugu film Maharshi, which had Mahesh Babu in the lead, and his next Telugu release will be the Chiranjeevi starrer Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. Additionally, the actor has the Tamil movie NGK with Suriya in the lead, the Hindi movie Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior, and the Kannada film Uppi Rupee, which has Upendra in the lead.

The shooting for Robert began at the Kanteerava Studio in Bengaluru and the first schedule will go on for the next 45 days. Sources close the film unit say that the filmmakers have asked the team members to sign a non-disclosure agreement and have banned the use of mobile phones on the sets to ensure no pics or videos are leaked unofficially.

Director Tharun Sudhir, who is wielding the megaphone for Robert, confirmed that Chandramouli M, one of the dialogue writers for KGF: Chapter 1, a smash hit film, will be working with another writer Rajshekar KL to pen the dialogues for Robert. Rajshekar KL is well-known for his work in Amma I Love You and Victory 2.

When this film was announced, it was revealed that Darshan’s character in it is named Robert but the director put an end to all guesswork by disclosing that the character will have nothing to do with the star’s cameo role in Chowka.

On the other hand, Jagapathi Babu has a slew of films in his kitty. Recently, he was roped in to play the antagonist in Mahesh Babu’s next directed by Anil Ravipudi. With the shooting of Robert on, we can expect its release later this year.
