Jagapathi Babu to lend voice in Tamil, Telugu version of Spielberg's ‘The BFG’

If all goes well, southern cinema's popular actor Jagapathi Babu might lend his voice to the role of the elderly giant in the upcoming Disney film ‘The BFG’, based on the eponymous popular novel by Roald Dahl.

Produced and directed by Steven Spielberg, the film features Mark Rylance as the friendly giant and Ruby Barnhill as Sophie, who gets kidnapped to help the giant on a mission.

Considering his popularity in Kollywood and Tollywood and having a deep-throated voice, Jagapathi Babu has been approached for the role and is said to be the strongest contender to bag the opportunity to dub for the giant’s character in Tamil and Telugu.

Having impressed recently with his work in Nannaku Prematho and Srimanthudu, Jagapathi Babu is gearing up to play a menacing villain in Vijay 60, which is currently on the floors. According to sources, he's also in talks to play the antagonist in Thala 57 starring Ajith Kumar.
