The Kollywood box office looks all set for a clash of the bigwigs as two eagerly-awaited Kollywood thrillers are set to release on September 2. The two contenders are the Dhanush starrer “Thodari” and “Iru Mugan” starring Chiyaan Vikram.

If viewership of the trailer is anything to go by, then it seems that Vikram’s “Iru Mugan” has the edge, having earned more than 4 million views on YouTube compared to the 2.5 million views for “Thodari”.

“Thodari”, directed by Prabhu Solomon, stars Dhanush and Keerthy Suresh in the lead, and reportedly revolves around a train hijacking. “Iru Mugan”, directed by Anand Shankar features Vikram Chiyaan in two roles, one of which is of a masked villain, and also stars Nayanthara and Nithya Menen.

Both films have created high expectations, and their release has been planned to take advantage of the Vinayaka Chathurthi weekend from September 2 to 6.
