Irudhi Suttru director’s next based on real-life events

Sudha Kongara, who made heads turn with her impressive film Irudhi Suttru, is busy finishing the script work for her next project. While there were rumours that she is working on a project to team up with Sivakarthikeyan in AM Rathnam’s production, Sudha apparently has denied such reports and has said that she is busy finishing her script work. Sources close to her have revealed that her next project will be based on a real-life incident that took place in the south of Tamil Nadu.

“She is busy with the script work. It will be a Telugu-Tamil bilingual and she is yet to finalise the cast and crew. Unlike Irudhi Suttru, the project will be very big in terms of scale and budget and Sudha is being very careful about who she will cast,” a source close to her said. She is expected to go on the floors with the project later this year. She is hopeful of teaming up with a big studio such that she won’t have to face any budget constraints.

With Irudhi Suttru, which was a runaway hit, Sudha proved her mettle as a filmmaker. Even though Venkatesh-starrer Guru, the Telugu remake of Irudhi Suttru failed to click at the box-office, it didn’t affect her career as she was mentally prepared with the result even before the film’s release.

Meanwhile, there are reports that she might team up with Suriya next and it has to be seen whether it is going to happen in the near future.
