The News Minute | March 5, 2015 | 12:51 pm IST Indhuja Pillai, the Bengaluru woman who's matrimonial ad has gone viral, is hoping that the media glare on her dies down. "It is surprising to me how the website went viral", says Indhuja. From local, to national and even international news organisations picked up Indhuja's story. 23-year-old Indhuja's parents had uploaded her profile on a popular matrimonial site. Indhuja, who does not want to get married at present, also found that the way her parents described her on the site was very 'unlike' her. Indhuja then created her own website putting up a matrimonial ad for herself, which ever since has gone viral. Read Indhuja's story here: When her parents asked her to marry, Indhuja Pillai put up her own matrimonial adWhat started as a personal project and 'meant more like a sarcastic statement', was then covered by the media across several platforms. "Even news channels broadcast it. They have though related it to a much bigger issue- women empowerment", says Indhuja. "I hope it is a good thing. I do not want it to be interpreted in a wrong light", she adds. The constant media attention on her, in a way, seems to have affected her work. "I work for a start-up. There's a lot to be done and I cannot afford to not focus on my work", she says adding that though messages on her social networking page have been pouring in, she has not got the time to read them. Indhuja had earlier said that she did receive several messages from people expressing interest in her as potential suitors. Is she still receiving such messages? "People have mostly been writing saying that they have liked my work. But since I haven't had the time to browse through all my messages, I am not sure if any more people have written to me expressing their interest in me", she says. "I have a lot to do at work, and I hope the media attention around my website and me dies down eventually", Indhuja says as she signs off.
