"Unna Nenachu” from Mysskin’s Psycho is the first song to be released from the film’s album. The song that was released on Monday has gained over 4 lakh views at the time of writing this article.

This song is the first time Sid Sriram has sung for Ilaiyaraaja. It is the third time the legendary composer is collaborating with director Mysskin after Nandalala and Onaayum Aattukkuttiyum.

Psycho, starring Udhayanidhi Stalin, Aditi Rao Hydari and Nithya Menen in lead roles, is expected to release on 27 December, right in time for the Christmas holidays.

The song is a melody with lyrics by Kabilan. The video has visuals from the film in which Udhayanidhi, who is seen wearing dark shades, poses with a guitar in hand. He seems to be performing for a small group in the song’s visuals. Surrounded by fairy lights, Aditi is seen standing with a forlorn expression. Sid Sriram’s voice adds aching sadness to the song’s lyrics.

Touted to be a psychological thriller, it is reportedly based on the tale of Angulimala (finger necklace) which is a central story in Buddhism. Bankrolled by Arun Mozhi Manickam under his Double Meaning Productions banner, PC Sreeram has done the cinematography.

The film was initially supposed to star actor Mythreya in the lead role. The film was embroiled in controversy when the actor went to Madras High Court seeking a stay against the film.

Meanwhile, Mysskin is currently camped in Bristol for the shooting of Vishal’s Thupparivaalan sequel. Debutant Ashya plays the female lead and the rest of the cast includes Prasanna, Nasser, Rahman, Gauthami and Suresh Chakravarthy. Ilaiyaraaja will once again collaborate with Mysskin for this film.

Another recent release for Sid Sriram is “Kannu Thangam” from Mani Ratnam’s Vaanam Kottattum. The singer, who has turned music composer for this film, has also sung in it along with Shakthisree Gopalan.
