I haven't given any statement on the Cauvery issue: Simbu denies rumours

Written by : TNM

Speculations were rife on social media that Simbu has decided not to release any of his future films in Karanataka, to mark his protest against the stand taken by the Karnataka state on the Cauvery issue.

The actor who is in Thailand shooting a song for his forthcoming movie "Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada." has clarified that he hasn't issued any statement regarding the Cauvery issue.

He also requested people not to believe any of the statements from unofficial sources.

In an official statement, he said “I’m currently in Thailand, completing the last leg of shoot for my film ‘Acham enbathu madamaiyada’. Today I was informed by well wishers, as well as my father, about my ‘apparent’ comment on the sensitive Cauvery issue. As a responsible citizen I’m aware of my role and clearly understand my limits too. I have not made or given any statement on this issue.”

The actor also added in his statement that the issue is between two states and it is not a platform for artistes to engage in propaganda.
