How Rajini rescued Radhika Apte from her language woes

Written by : TNM Staff

It’s not for nothing that “Phobia” actor, Radhika Apte, has been singing praises of superstar Rajinikanth. The actor, who teamed up with the 65-year-old star for the first time on the sets of “Kabali”, has said that Rajini is the one and only superstar, and no one can replace him.

When Radhika was having trouble with some of the Tamil dialogues on the sets of ‘Kabali’, it was the Thalaivar who came to her rescue, translating them into Marathi for her benefit. A Maharashtrian by birth, Rajini still has great command over the language despite having been away from his birth place for decades now.

In the Pa.Ranjith-directed film, which is set to hit screens on July 22, Radhika plays a worker in a rubber plant who Rajini falls in love with and marries. The scenes between the two actors are said to form the emotional core of the film.

“Kabali” is set to be simultaneously released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi in about 4000 screens worldwide.
