Hansika Motwani in talks for Sundar C’s ‘Sanghamitra’

Written by : TNM

It wasn’t long ago that Sundar C’s mega budget film Sanghamitra, a period fantasy film, was launched amid high expectations at the Cannes International Film Festival. Shruti Haasan was roped in to play a fierce warrior queen and she even underwent special training in sword-fighting in London, before exiting the project owing to unforeseen circumstances.

Since her exit, the makers have been desperately searching for her replacement. Apparently, Hansika has been approached with the offer but she hasn’t been signed yet, according to a reliable source. Sundar C has previously worked with Hansika in a few films and prefers her over other actresses because he shares a great rapport with her.

Tipped to be made on a budget of Rs 150 crores, the film happens to the most expensive project in the careers of its director Sundar C and its makers, Sri Thenandal Studios. It is also rumoured that the film is most likely to be made in two parts. Going the Baahubali way, the first part will feature Arya while the second one will star Jayam Ravi.

Jayam Ravi, too, had said that he will start training for the project and also beef up to play a very challenging role. Arya, who hasn't had a hit in a long time, has pinned all his hopes on this film as he wishes to bounce back strongly. Double Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman has been roped in to compose music and he has apparently already completed a song. The film will also be made in Telugu and Hindi but may be not simultaneously along with its Tamil version.
