Hansika is keen on making a mark for herself in other film industries. In this pursuit of diversifying, she has signed on the dotted lines to star in a Malayalam film that has Mohanlal playing the main lead. The film is to be directed by veteran director B Unnikrishnan.

Not the usual type of movie for which a lead pair in mandatory, this film will have importance attached to the characters and characterisations. Therefore, it wouldn’t be apt to say that Hansika plays the female lead, say sources.

Apart from Mohanlal, the untitled film also has Vishal and Srikanth playing important roles. Touted to be a suspense thriller that revolves around a retired cop played by Mohanlal, the shooting of this film will go on to the floors later this month. The team intends to shoot a major portion of the film across Kerala.
