Basking in the positive response to his performance in Bala’s Naachiyaar, actor-composer GV Prakash Kumar is all set to team up with Aramm director Gopi Nainar next for a sports-based drama, according to reliable sources.

If inside reports are anything to go by, the Prakash-Nainar project will be based on boxing and the pre-production work is already underway. A few months ago, Nainar was supposed to team up with Siddharth for a project and the film was set to go on the floors very soon. So this announcement about Nainar teaming up with Prakash has come as a huge surprise and it’s quite possible that he’s making the same project he had planned with Siddharth by roping in Prakash.

With nearly half a dozen projects in his kitty, Prakash has sworn to choose interesting projects post Naachiyaar, a crime-thriller set in Chennai and Thanjavur, in which he teamed up with Jyothika. In a recent media interaction, he said that working in Naachiyaar under the direction of Bala has given him a new lease of life as an actor. He also said that it has given him the confidence to pick something offbeat and go against the grain to prove himself.

Currently shooting for Rajiv Menon’s musical drama Sarvam Thaala Mayam, in which he plays a musician, Prakash also has a project with Adhik Ravichandran in his kitty. The buzz is that Amyra Dastur has been signed as his pair for Adhik’s film.

On the acting front, he also has projects such as Adangathey, 4G, Semma, Kuppathu Raja and Ayngaran, apart from the Tamil remakes of the Telugu films 100% Love and Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada. On the music front, he has confirmed that he will be teaming up with Suriya for a yet-untitled project with director Sudha Kongara later this year.
