Govind Vasantha, who gave music to the Tamil film 96, will be composing the music of actor Nivin Pauly’s next film, Padavettu.

Govind had shot to fame as one of the founder members of the music band Thaikkudam Bridge. Also a violinist, his background theme for 96 has been especially popular. The track ‘Kathale Kathale’ that Govind composed for 96 had been so popular that it ended up as ring tones and caller tunes of many. “I made it because I was in the mood for it and not because the director had asked for it. It is a bonus track. We actually had no plan to include this in the teaser. I had composed this version and I thought it may work with the teaser. And it did,” he said in an earlier interview to TNM.

In Malayalam, Govind has earlier composed a song for Rajeev Ravi’s film Njan Steve Lopez and for one of the segments of the anthology film Solo, in which he also acted along with Dulquer Salmaan. Govind is also composing for another Nivin Pauly starrer, Moothon, directed by Geetu Mohandas.

The composer also has other projects like Mani Ratnam's next production with GV Prakash, Vikram Prabhu, Madonna Sebastian and Aishwarya Rajesh helmed by his former associate Dhanasekharan. He also has Jeethu Joseph's next with Karthi which also stars Jyothika.

Padavettu is bankrolled by actor Sunny Wayne, and directed by Liju Krishna. Sunny has earlier produced Liju’s play Moment Just Before Death. Liju is making his debut as a feature film director with Padavettu, which is also scripted by him. The first look poster of the film was recently released.

Explaining the unique poster, director Liju said in an interview to the Times of India, “The man (in the poster) is Nivin’s character and the poster explains the mood of the movie. That’s all I can reveal right now.” He added that the team has tried to observe and present contemporary society in an interesting way.
