Shooting for “2.0”, the upcoming sequel to “Enthiran” starring superstar Rajinikanth, is progressing at a brisk pace under the direction of Shankar.

The film, which also stars Amy Jackson in the lead and Akshay Kumar as the main antagonist, has now added Malayalam actor Kalabhavan Shajon to its cast. Adil Hussain and Sudhanshu Pandey also feature in the cast. Shajohn has reportedly been offered an important role in the film.

In a recent interview with The Times of India, Shajohn revealed that it was his performance in “Drishyam” that landed him the role.

Touted to the biggest film in the history of Indian cinema, “2.0” is being bankrolled by Lyca Production, with a budget of Rs 350 crore. The film is expected to be released by April 2017.

Meanwhile, Shajohn will also be making his first foray into direction. His debut directorial venture with Prithviraj, a family entertainer, will start shooting next year.
