First look poster of ‘Marconi Mathai’ features Jayaram and Vijay Sethupathi

The first look poster of the upcoming Malayalam film Marconi Mathai is out online. Dulquer Salmaan has shared the poster online as well. The poster features Tamil star Vijay Sethupathi along with Jayaram, the lead actor in Marconi Mathai and actor Athmiya. While Jayaram plays the title role in it, Vijay Sethupathi will be making his debut in the Malayalam film industry.

In Marconi Mathai, is directed by Sanil Kalathil, Jayaram is playing an ex-army man working as a security guard in a bank. Reports are that radio plays a pivotal character in the film and Marconi stands for its inventor Guglielmo Marconi. Ever since Jayaram’s character in the film was revealed, movie buffs had wanted to know about Vijay Sethupathi’s role in it. It came out in an interview later that he plays himself in the film.

In an interview to the cinemaexpress, Vijay Sethupathi said, “No matter how many youngsters come and go, your first lessons always come from your seniors. They deserve our respect and time, even if there is a date issue. I have seen some of Jayaram sir's films and, naturally, I wanted to meet him in person.” On his role in the film, the star said, “I'm playing myself in Marconi Mathai, and I'm getting the same amount of love on set that Mathai gives everyone. I'm enjoying this experience.”

The technical crew of Marconi Mathai includes Sajan Kalathil as the cinematographer, M Jayachandran as the music composer and Shameer Muhammed as the editor. The film is bankrolled under the banner Satyam Audios.

Meanwhile, Jayaram has recently cleared the air about turning a director. There was a report that Jayaram would be directing a Malayalam movie, but the actor said in an interview that he was in no hurry to do so and would first finish his acting assignments. His last release My Great Grandfather has come out during Eid.
