First glimpse of Jyothika from 'Chekka Chivantha Vaanam'

Lensman Santosh Sivan has shared pictures from the sets of Mani Ratnam’s upcoming film Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, which includes the first glimpse of Jyothika from the sets.

The shooting of this film is going on at a brisk phase, As per the latest update, the team of CCV will next shoot in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and the project is on the verge of being completed.

The film features an ensemble cast of Arvind Swami, Vijay Sethupathi, Arun Vijay, Aishwarya Rajesh, Jyothika and Aditi Rao Hydari among others. The project marks Ratnam’s first-time collaboration with actors such as Jyothika, Arun Vijay, Simbu and Vijay Sethupathi.

The last time director Mani Ratnam did a film with a star-studded ensemble cast was 14 years ago — Ayutha Ezhuthu.

Actors Arvind Swami and Aishwarya Rajesh recently announced on Twitter that they have completed shooting their portions. Rumours are rife that the film might focus on a communist revolution. However, an official confirmation is yet to come. Reliable sources reveal that the film is a tale of four brothers, played by Arvind Swami, STR, Arun Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi. It would be interesting to see these four performers putting their best foot forward.

The film which will be dubbed and released in Telugu as Nawab, will also feature Prakash Raj, Thiagarajan, Jayasudha, Mansoor Ali Khan and newcomer Dayana Erappa as part of the supporting cast. The film has been co-written by Mani Ratnam and Siva Ananth. Director Bejoy Nambiar is on-board as a creative producer.

Jointly produced by Madras Talkies and Lyca, AR Rahman is composing the music for the film. This is the 17th product of Madras Talkies.
