Written by : Digital Native

The trailer of Gopichand’s upcoming release Pantham is out and it proves to be a complete commercial entertainer. The title, which comes with the tagline “fights for a cause” will be a film with a social message, sources close to the film unit say. The hero, Gopichand, is apparently fighting the corrupt to bring out the black money.

Touted to be a romantic action entertainer, Pantham will mark the directorial debut of screen writer K. Chakravarthy Reddy who is also in charge of the story. Bobby Kolli has penned the screenplay while the dialogues have been written by Ramesh Reddy. The director worked as the screenwriter in films such as Balupu, Power and  Jai Lava Kusa.

Sharing the screen space with Gopichand as his heroine is Mehreen Pirzada and those in the supporting cast include Hamsa Nandini, Sampath Raj, Jayaprakash Reddy, Sayaji Shinde, Pavitra Lokesh, Srinivasa Reddy, Ajay and Prudhviraj. The film is bankrolled by KK Radhamohan under his banner Sri Sathya Sai Arts.

Gopi Sunder is the music composer for this flick with Prasad Murella being the cinematographer and Prawin Pudi as the editor.

Pantham being an action entertainer is a very important film in Gopichand’s career as it will be his 25th film. He has an intense role to play and it will be a performance oriented role, say sources.

Pantham, which was initially planned as a summer release, was postponed for various reasons and it is now scheduled for release on July 5.

Gopichand’s Aaradugula Bullet was supposed to release this month but has been deferred following a legal suit.

Gopichand made his debut as a hero with his 2001 release Tholi Valapu and has acted in Jayam, Nijam, Andhrudu, Golimaar, Wanted, Mogudu, Loukyam, and Goutham Nanda. His last release was Aaradugula Bullet, which hit the silver screens last year. Directed by B. Gopal, this film had Nayanthara pairing up with Gopichand.
