The Malayalam film Athiran, starring Fahadh Faasil and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles, is all set to be released in Tamil and Telugu as well. The filmmakers decided on this because both Fahadh Faasil as well as Sai Pallavi are quite popular among the Tamil and Telugu audiences, and it would be apt to cash in on it. Also, Athiran’s story is set in Ooty in Tamil Nadu.

Fahadh made his debut in Kollywood with the Siva Karthikeyan starrer Velaikkaran and has just been seen in Super Deluxe. Sai Pallavi, meanwhile, was seen in the AL Vijay directorial Diya, Balaji’s Maari 2 and is expecting the release of the Suriya starrer NGK this year.

Directed by debutant Vivek, Athiran’s technical crew includes music director Jayahari for soundtrack and Ghibran to score the background music while Anu Moothedath has cranked the camera and Ayoob Khan has done the editing.

A few days ago, pictures of Fahadh dubbing for the film were released online and went viral among his fans.

Touted to be a psychological thriller, Athiran is set at a hospital in Ooty. It has Fahadh playing the doctor. Confirming the same, the film’s writer PF Mathews has been quoted by the Silverscreen as saying, “It’s a thriller set in a mental hospital in a hill station and Fahadh Faasil essays the role of doctor.” On the other characters in the film, he said, “Sai Pallavi plays one of the two lead characters in the movie. Prakash Raj appears in a pivotal role, although it is not a full-fledged one. Atul Kulkarni plays a character that appears throughout the movie.”

Besides Athiran, Fahadh Faasil’s fans are waiting eagerly for the star’s film Trance. The film has been scripted by Vadakkan Vincent and apart from Fahadh, also features Vinayakan, Soubin Shahir, Chemban Vinod, Sreenath Bhasi and Alphonse Puthran in the cast. Apart from directing and producing the film, Anwar Rasheed is also handling the camera for Trance.
