Written by : Digital Native

Indrajith Sukumaran has been bagging some of the best projects of late. On the way his career is shaping up, the actor has said in an interview to the Times of India that he is “enjoying this phase of his career.”

Indrajith’s line-up of films includes a sports drama titled Aaha. It is a film based on tug-of-war, directed by Bibin Paul Samuel. Speaking about this film, the actor told in the interview that he has never done a sports film in his career till date and is excited about it. The actor pointed out that director Bibin and scriptwriter Tobit Chirayath have done a lot of research about the sport to spin an interesting tale around it. He added, “In fact, we have a rich history of playing the sport, especially the team Aaha Neeloor, on which the film is based on. It wasn’t an organised club or anything, it comprised of hardworking people who did manual labour and were passionate about the sport.”

Interestingly, Indrajith will be appearing in two get-ups in this film – as a 30-year-old and 55-year-old. Ashwin K Kumar and Amith Chakalakkal play important roles in this flick with the former also appearing in two get-ups.

Besides Aaha, Indrajith has Kurup and Thuramukham in his kitty. Kurup is scripted by Daniell Sayooj Nair and K S Aravind while Jithin K Jose has penned the story. The film has Dulquer Salmaan playing the lead role. Sobhita Dhulipala, Sunny Wayne, and Shine Tom Chacko are also part of the star cast. Srinath Rajendran is wielding the megaphone for this venture which is based on the life of one of the most elusive accused to date, Sukumara Kurup. Thuramukham has Nivin Pauly in the lead role with Biju Menon, Indrajith Sukumaran, Nimisha Sajayan and Arjun Ashokan in the star cast. Rajeev Ravi is directing this film.
