While the film industry has come to a complete standstill owing to the lockdown due to the coronavirus scare, one film crew is busy with the shooting in progress. Reports are that the Malayalam movie Djibouti is in progress in the African country Djibouti. The film is set in this country and the team had left to complete the shooting even before the coronavirus outbreak, say sources. 

The team is unaffected with the current situation as they are camped in a less crowded place and are able to continue with the shooting without any hindrance. 

Amith Chakkalakkal, Dileesh Pothen, Jacob Gregory and Anjali Nair play the lead roles in Djibouti. The film is bankrolled by Sweety Maria jobi, with S J Sinu penning the story and directing it. The technical crew of this flick includes T D Sreenivas for cinematography and Deepak Dev for music direction.

In an interview with the Times of India earlier, Amith revealed, “It’s the love story between two beautiful countries - India and Djibouti. The movie also cinematically highlights the problems a person faces when they go to a foreign country. It’s got romance, family sentiments and action. But what really attracted me to the script was that it was based on a true story. I wanted it to be made into a film and I wanted to be part of that film.”

It may be noted that the Aadujeevitham team flew down to Jordan right before the lockdown was announced and is left stranded there. The team had appealed to the Kerala Chief Minister to ensure their safe return a few days ago. 

Aadujeevitham is directed by Blessy and bankrolled by K G Abraham under the banner KGA Films. The film’s technical crew includes the Oscar winning music composer A R Rahman, Resul Pookutty for sound designing, K U Mohanan for cinematography and Raja Muhammed for editing.
