Directors Shankar and Karan Johar laud 'Kolamaavu Kokila'

Accolades have been pouring in for Kolamaavu Kokila right from the day it hit the theatres. It is not just movie buffs but even celebs are lauding the efforts of the team. While several celebrities have praised the film, the latest to join the list is the veteran director S Shankar.

He took to Twitter to post this about the movie: “Kolamaavu Kokila- An interesting, humorous, kudumba-crime drama. Nayanthara-calm, effective n classy. Each character shines in its own way.Anirudh rocks with “Gun-in Kadhal” at the right places.Director Nelson surprises with a fresh approach. Well written and satisfying.”

Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar also heaped praises on the film. He has tweeted: “Tempted more to watch the current blockbuster frm south #KolamaavuKokila after watchin this uber cool Song video Feat. #Nayanthara & @anirudhofficial Shot by RaviVarman&directed by @VigneshShivN.”

Released on August 17 to packed houses, Kolamaavu Kokila’s first-day box office collections stood at Rs 3.50 crores. It is on its way to being a big hit.

Kolamaavu Kokila is directed Nelson Dilipkumar and bankrolled by A Subhashkaran under the banner Lyca Productions. The film has as an interesting line up for star cast with comedian Yogi Babu playing a character that woos Nayanthara. This is sure to have the audiences in splits of laughter. The film also has Saranya Ponvannan, Hareesh Peradi and Aranthangi Nisha playing the supporting roles.

Anirudh is the music composer for this flick and the single, 'Kalyana Vayasu', filmed on Yogi Babu abd Nayanthara, has turned out to be a chartbuster already. Siva Kumar Vijayan cranked the camera for this venture with Nirmal editing it.

Even before the film’s release, on its trailer launch, Samantha had tweeted:  “I know I am a little late.. the trailer of #Kolamavukokila is outstanding Can’t wait to watch this film . All the very best to this team and #Nayanthara for having balls of steel.”
