Director Anand Shankar clarifies on working with Vijay Sethupathi

There have been reports of director Anand Shankar collaborating with Vijay Sethupathi for a film. While fans have been waiting eagerly for news on this, Anand Shankar put out a tweet refuting it as mere rumors.

His tweet reads, “News about my next isn’t true. Though I would definitely love that combination. Just working on good scripts now. Haven’t signed anything, yet. Also, I’m watching game of thrones. Like everyone else. Somehow it makes life worth living.”

Anand Shankar has three films to his credit till date. He made his debut with the Vikram Prabhu starrer Arima Nambi in 2014 and directed Vikram's Iru Mugan and Vijay Deverakonda's NOTA.

On the other hand, Vijay Sethupathi has a slew of films in different languages. In Tamil, he has Maamanidhan, Sindhubaadh, and Laabam  and he will be making his debut in the Malayalam film industry with Marconi Mathai in which he shares the screen space with the veteran actor Jayaram and his Tollywood debut will be with the mega star Chiranjeevi starrer Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy.

Directed by Surendhar Reddy, Sye Raa is being bankrolled by Ram Charan Teja under his home banner Konidela Production Company on a budget of Rs 200 crores. It has a bevy of stars from different film industries including Amitabh Bachchan who will be seen making a guest appearance as Gosayi Venkanna.

The others in the star cast are Nayanthara, Tamannaah, Jagapathi Babu, Kiccha Sudeep. R Rathnavelu is the cameraman for this film, with A Sreekar Prasad editing it and Amit Trivedi wielding the music baton. It is a trilingual that will be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
