Dhruva Natchathiram cast reshuffled; Ritu Varma replaces Anu Emmanuel

Written by : TNM

If you’re wondering what has become constant in Gautham Menon’s films lately, you’d be surprised to know that it’s the cast reshuffling. Having recently commenced work on Dhruva Natchathiram, his most ambitious project yet with Vikram and Anu Emmanuel in the lead, we’ve learnt from reliable sources that the latter has already exited the project. Apparently, Ritu Varma of Pellichoopulu fame has been brought on board as replacement for Anu, and the former has already joined the sets.

Interestingly, Gautham had considered Ritu for the Tamil remake of Pellichoopulu. But the offer eventually went to Tamannaah, who even expressed her excitement over teaming up with the Kaakha Kaakha filmmaker for the first time.

Anu chose to walk out after Vikram’s sudden decision to leave Dhruva Natchathiram and commence shooting for Vijay Chander’s film, forcing the young actress to shuffle her dates which she couldn’t do due to her previously signed commitments. Despite being very excited to be part of the project, she had no other option but to leave as she has Pawan Kalyan’s Vedalam remake in her kitty.

The first schedule of Dhruva Natchathiram, which features Vikram in the role of a secret agent, was recently wrapped in Coonoor. With Harris Jayaraj scoring the music and Jomon T John cranking the camera, the film is slated for release in August.
