Dhanush’s long-delayed Thodari finally set for release on Sep 22

Written by : TNM

Dhanush can finally breathe a sigh of relief, as his long-delayed project, Thodari, is finally gearing up to hit the screens on Sep 22. It will take Vijay Sethupathi’s Aaandavan Kattalai head on at the box-office. While sources from the production side clarified that the delay in the release was due to a high degree of visual effects work involved, trade sources say otherwise.

Apparently, the film didn’t find a buyer for a long time and even those who initially bought the theatrical rights returned the film to its makers as no distributor was interested in it. Directed by Prabhu Solomon, the entire film is shot on a train, and Dhanush will be seen as a pantry worker. Tipped to be a romantic thriller, the project also stars Keerthy Suresh and Harish Uthaman in important roles.

According to the director, Thodari is inspired from his own life, based on a train journey he went on, nearly two decades ago. Usually known for working with new faces, it’s the first time in his career Prabhu Solomon is working with an established star.
