Dhanush’s “Thodari” expected to release on August 12

Tamil star Dhanush’s upcoming film “Thodari” is expected to release on August 12.  Sources said, the date for the film has been fixed after much delay. Producers of the film hope to cash-in on the long Independence Day weekend.

Directed by Prabhu Solomon, “Thodari” features Dhanush, who plays a pantry worker on a New Delhi-Chennai train. The film also stars Keerthi Suresh of “Rajini Murugan” fame. Keerthi plays the role of a touch-up girl for a popular actress in “Thodari”. The story revolves around how the two characters falls in love on a train journey.

The producers are expected to officially announce the release date after receiving the film certification from the Censor Board.

The film also has a huge star cast with Thambi Ramaiah, Karunakaran and Ganesh Venkatraman playing supporting roles.

Produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, the budget of the film is pegged at Rs 40 crore. “Thodari” features music by Imman, while cinematography is by Vetrivel Mahendran.
