Dhanush records a song for his upcoming film 'Asuran'

Actor Dhanush, who has proved his mettle as a singer has nowrecorded a number for Vetrimaaran’s upcoming revenge-drama Asuran, based on writer Poomani's Tamil novel Vekkai. On Monday, composer GV Prakash Kumar took to Twitter to announce that he has recorded a song for Asuran featuring Dhanush, Ken Karunas and Tee Jay.

“Dhanush, Ken and Tee Jay sing a song together in Yugabharathi’s lyrics. A peppy track on way for Vetrimaaran,” Prakash tweeted along with a picture from the recording session. It’s worth mentioning that Dhanush has previously crooned in Prakash’s music for films such as Pollathavan and Aadukalam.

Dhanush also took to Twitter and wrote that he had fun recording this song and that he can’t wait for audiences to listen to it.

In Asuran, Dhanush will be seen playing dual roles as father and son. The film features popular filmmaker Balaji Sakthivel as the antagonist, best known for directing Bharath and Sandhya starrer Kadhal.

This project marks the Tamil debut of Manju Warrier, who has paired up with Dhanush for the first time. Last seen playing an accidental gangster in Vada Chennai, Dhanush will be seen playing a daily wage labourer in Asuran.

Meanwhile, Dhanush will soon return to the sets of his next project with director Durai Senthil Kumar of Kodi fame. Interestingly, the film also features Dhanush in dual roles and marks his reunion with Sneha after a decade.

Cinematographer Om Prakash will crank the camera and this will be his fourth outing with Dhanush after Maari, Anegan and Maari 2.The rest of the cast is yet to be finalised. Music will be taken care by Vivek-Mervin duo.
