Devi Sri Prasad replaces Harris Jayaraj in Vikram’s Saamy 2

Written by : TNM

Vikram’s Saamy 2 is slated to go on the floors soon. With the pre-production work going on in full speed, the makers have made a major shuffle in the technical team. Harris Jayaraj, who was originally supposed to work on the highly anticipated sequel in which Vikram returns as the foul-mouthed cop, has been replaced by Devi Sri Prasad aka DSP for reasons yet unknown. While the makers confirmed the news in an official statement, the exact reason still remains a mystery.

“When we approached DSP, he was thrilled and was happy to be part of the venture. He has given some back-to-back hits in Telugu and I'm sure he can match Hari's racy shots in the movie. They have worked together previously and share a great camaraderie,” producer Shibu Thameens was quoted as saying by the Times of India.

This will be the fifth time that DSP will be joining hands with director Hari. The earlier outings of this hit duo include the blockbusters Singam and Singam 2, the songs of which were instant chartbusters and continue to enthrall audiences even today. Similarly, DSP had worked with Vikram earlier for the movie Kandasamy.

Also starring Keerthy Suresh and Trisha, the film is slated to go on the floors from June. It’s after a gap of over a decade that Hari and Vikram are reuniting and their combination has their fans excited.
