Kannada actor Darshan’s film Odeya was initially scheduled to release on November 1 to coincide with Kannada Rajyotsava Day. However this was postponed to December 20. Latest reports now state that the film will hit the marquee sooner and will likely be released on December 12. The filmmakers are currently awaiting clearance from the Censor Board, following which the release date will be officially announced.

Odeya is directed by M D Sridhar. The film was earlier titled Wodeyar, but this was later changed to Odeya to avoid any controversies which may arise. The film is being bankrolled by Darshan’s friend Sandesh Nagraj under the banner of Sandesh Productions. Raghavi Thimmayya (Sanah Thimmayya) plays the female lead in this flick. The actor stated in an interview that she landed the role after auditioning for it. She had also said that she learned the nitty-gritty of acting from sharing screen space with veteran actors.

The movie has Krishna Kumar cranking the camera with the background score by V Harikrishna, and music by Arjun Janya. Yashas, Pankaj, Niranjan, Samarth, Ravi Shankar, Devaraj, Sadhu Kokila, Chikkanna, and Avinash form the supporting cast of Odeya. The shooting of the movie wrapped up in Switzerland last month, where the team had gone to shoot a song sequence.

It may be noted here that Darshan has also wrapped up the shooting of his other film Roberrt and has also completed dubbing for the film. Tharun Sudhir is helming the project as its director. On making this film with Darshan, the director said in a media interaction earlier that he penned the film not as a director but as Darshan’s fan, which means it will completely satisfy the star’s fans.
