As Darshan is currently busy shooting his 49th film Tarak, directed by Milana Prakash, reports about his landmark 50th film have already been surfacing for some time now. While it was being speculated that his brother Dinakar Thoogudeep would be helming the film as the director, it has now been confirmed that Naganna of Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna fame will be donning the director’s hat.

Speaking about the film to the Times of India, Naganna said, “Yes, it is Darshan's 50th film and it will see him playing Duryodhana. We're still finalising the rest of the casting. We can also confirm that Ambareesh will be playing Bheeshma in the film.”

Titled Kurukshetra, the film is inspired from the epic Mahabharata, we hear. Kurukshetra will go on the floors as soon as Darshan is done with Tarak, which is being shot right now. Meanwhile, Darshan’s Chakravarthy, which has been directed by Chintan, will be hitting the screens on April 14.
